06Kling prompt craft

Kling AI image to video prompt tips

Lead with the action

The photo already shows what everything looks like, so spend your words on motion. Open with what the subject does — “she turns toward the window” — then the camera, then the light.

One action, one camera move

Stacking a pan, a zoom and an orbit makes Kling hedge between them and the shot wanders. Pick one subject action and one camera move per render.

Use the negative prompt

Open “Negative prompt” under the generator and list what you don’t want: morphing face, extra fingers, warped text, flicker. It is the quickest fix for recurring artefacts.

Draft cheap, finish on 3.0

Draft on Kling 2.5 Turbo at 6 credits per second, then re-render the keeper on Kling 3.0 at 10. Same photo, same prompt — you only pay hero prices for the shot you keep.

Subtle wins for faces

“Slight head turn, slow blink” holds a likeness far better than a big gesture. Save fast action for landscapes, vehicles and water, where small changes go unnoticed.

Match length to motion

A breeze needs five seconds; a walk across the frame needs ten. Kling 3.0 image to video renders any whole length from 3 to 15 seconds, so you pay only for the motion you need.

07Cost per clip

What Kling AI image to video costs

Credits are charged per generated second and depend on the Kling model, resolution and sound. Failed renders are refunded automatically.
ModelResolutionCredits / secWith audioTypical clip
Kling 3.0720p10145s · 50 cr ≈ $0.68

Kling 2.5 Turbo720p6—5s · 30 cr ≈ $0.41
Kling 2.5 Turbo1080p6—5s · 30 cr ≈ $0.41

Example: a 5-second Kling 3.0 clip at 720p costs 50 credits (≈ $0.68 on the Pro plan). Kling 2.5 Turbo renders every clip at 1080p, at the same price whichever resolution you pick.

08Rules

Upload responsibly

  • Only upload photos you took or have the right to use.
  • Photos of other people need their permission; photos of children need a parent or guardian’s. No public figures.
  • No sexual, suggestive or violent content. Prompts are screened, the video models apply their own safety filters, and uploads must follow our content policy.
  • Renders are clean, with no watermark, and commercial-use ready within our content policy.
FAQ

Kling AI image to video FAQ

Still curious? Email support@picturetovideo.org — a human replies within a day.

01How does Kling AI image to video work?
You upload one photo and, if you like, describe the motion. Kling reads the subject, depth and lighting of the still, uses it as the first frame and generates the frames that follow, so the scene moves forward while keeping the original look. A camera instruction such as “slow push-in” makes the result feel more cinematic.
02Which Kling model is best for image to video?
Kling 3.0 is the all-round pick: 3–15s clips, optional audio and a 4K tier, from 10 credits per second. Kling 3.0 Turbo renders faster with sound on every clip. Kling 2.5 Turbo is the cheapest way to test an idea at 6 credits per second. To keep people from your photos consistent in a scene, Kling 3.0 Omni powers our photo effect templates.
03Can I use Kling 4.0 for image to video yet?
Not yet. Kling 4.0 has been announced, but its API is not open, so we can’t render it and won’t claim to. Image to video here runs on Kling 3.0 today. Join the waitlist on the Kling 4.0 page and we email you the day we switch it on.
04Does Kling AI image to video support start and end frames?
Yes. Choose Start & End Frame in the generator and upload two images; Kling animates a plausible path from the first to the second. Kling 3.0 and Kling 2.5 Turbo support it today — Kling 3.0 at 720p and 1080p. Kling 4.0 is announced with up to 10 keyframes per shot.
05Will the video keep my photo’s aspect ratio?
Yes — Kling image to video follows the shape of the photo you upload, and the Kling models offer 16:9, 9:16, 1:1. Crop to 9:16 for Reels, Shorts and TikTok, 1:1 for feeds or 16:9 for YouTube before uploading; cropping afterwards throws away resolution and can cut off the motion you paid for.
06How do I stop Kling from changing a face?
Keep the motion small and the clip short: “slight head turn, slow blink” at five seconds holds a likeness far better than a big gesture at ten. Start from a sharp, front-lit photo, add “morphing face, distorted features” to the negative prompt, and use Kling 3.0 rather than a Turbo model for portraits you plan to keep.
07Is Kling AI image to video free to try?
Not here — there is no free tier; the $2.99 starter pack (200 credits, about 6 five-second Draft clips) is the cheapest way in. Kling’s own app has a free daily allowance (66 / day as of 2026-10-03) if you prefer to use it directly. Any pack or plan here runs Kling 3.0, end frames and clean 1080p downloads.
08Is this the official Kling AI image to video tool?
No. PictureToVideo is an independent website that runs Kling models through their API. We are not affiliated with Kuaishou or Kling AI and don’t use official logos or footage. You don’t need a Kling account — sign in here, upload a photo and render. To try Veo, Wan or Hailuo on the same photo, use our general image to video tool.
