04What stays the same

Kling 4 vs Kling 3: what stays the same

How you write prompts

Kling 4.0 reads prompts the way 3.0 does: subject, action, camera, light, style. What you write today carries straight over, and the 8,000-token limit simply leaves more room for shot-by-shot direction.

Thinking in frames

Both models accept a start and an end image. 4.0 stretches the idea to ten keyframes, so planning your opening and closing frames in 3.0 is exactly the habit that pays off later.

Resolution tiers

720p, 1080p and 4K exist on both. If you already deliver 4K from 3.0, your pipeline doesn’t change — only HDR, still marked coming soon for 4.0, would add a new grading step.

Multi-shot storytelling

Kling 3.0 already writes up to six shots in one prompt, each with its own framing and camera move. 4.0 keeps multi-shot and adds a continuous timeline inside Kling’s own app.

Content rules

The same policy applies to every model on our studio: no sexual or suggestive content, no real public figures, and only images you have the right to use.

Where you use it

On PictureToVideo both sit in one generator: 4.0 is already listed in the model menu as Studio Next, marked coming soon, next to Studio (Kling 3.0). The day its API opens it switches on — your credits, history and drafts stay where they are.

06Method & disclosure

How we compare Kling 4.0 vs 3.0

  • Every 4.0 figure is quoted from Kling’s own release note and blog post, checked Oct 3, 2026; items Kling marks “coming soon” are labelled that way.
  • Announced is not tested: we make no claims about 4.0 picture quality until it can be rendered.
  • Kling 3.0 and 3.0 Turbo prices are our live rates; 4.0 prices are a provisional ceiling that can only go down.
  • Disclosure: PictureToVideo sells access to Kling models, so we earn either way — which is why this page sticks to published specs and prices.
FAQ

Kling 4.0 vs 3.0 FAQ

Still curious? Email support@picturetovideo.org — a human replies within a day.

01Kling 4.0 vs Kling 3.0: what is the main difference?
Length and control. Kling 4.0 is announced with single takes of up to 30 seconds versus 15 on 3.0, up to ten keyframes instead of a start and end frame, 15 reference inputs, native 21:9 and stereo audio. Resolution tiers stay the same — 720p, 1080p and 4K — while 10-bit HDR is listed as coming soon.
02Is Kling 4.0 better than Kling 3.0?
On paper, yes: in the spec table, every announced spec is equal or higher. Whether motion, faces and prompt adherence are visibly better can only be judged once 4.0 can be rendered, and we make no claims about it until then.
03Can I use Kling 4.0 right now?
Not through any API we can call yet. As of October 5, 2026, Kling’s developer page says official release in October, and only 4.0 Flash is out, in a limited beta inside Kling’s own app since September 28. Some third-party sites advertise a “Kling 4.0 API” that we haven’t been able to verify. Join our waitlist and we will email you once, the day it opens here.
04Will Kling 4.0 cost more than Kling 3.0?
Kling has not announced 4.0 prices. Our provisional launch rate is 18 credits per second at 720p, against 10 for Kling 3.0. That provisional figure is a ceiling: when the real API price is published we will lower it if we can, and never raise it.
05Kling 3.0 vs 4.0: should I wait or start now?
Wait only if you need something 3.0 cannot fake well: one take longer than 15 seconds, more than two keyframes, native 21:9, stereo sound or on-screen text in many languages. For everything else, start in 3.0 today — prompts carry over unchanged, so nothing you make now is wasted.
06Does Kling 4.0 support 4K and HDR?
Kling 4.0 is announced with 720p, 1080p and native 4K output. 10-bit HDR at 1080p and 4K is officially listed as coming soon, so it may not be there on launch day. Kling 3.0 already renders native 4K, in 8-bit SDR, up to 15 seconds per take.
07What is Kling 4.0 Flash?
Kling 4.0 Flash is the fast, lower-cost tier of the 4.0 family: 3–20 second clips at 720p, image-to-video from a first frame only. Since September 28 it has been in a limited beta inside Kling’s own app. Its closest live equivalent on PictureToVideo is Kling 3.0 Turbo.
08Is PictureToVideo run by Kuaishou or Kling AI?
No. PictureToVideo is an independent studio that runs Kling and other video models through their APIs; it is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Kuaishou or Kling AI. The specs on this page are quoted from Kling’s public release notes, with the date we last checked them.
